Dear ,
May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, heavy, or just tired— you are not alone. At GirlTREK, we take care of our mental health by walking and talking together. Over the past few months, we’ve been building The Underground app to support that — a safe, sacred space where women can walk, listen, and stay connected every day.
Today, we’re releasing a new audio offering in the Underground app called ‘Listen to Lead’. Episode 1 delves into an authentic conversation between GirlTREK members in Montgomery, AL. They discuss what it means to hold space for our sisters, and ourselves, with empathy, compassion and sisterly love. Stay tuned for more episodes that cover topics across Mental Health, Black History, Self-Care and more. |

You can queue it up right now and start the month off loving on yourself. You can queue it up tomorrow for Sisterhood Saturday — our day of solidarity, when we walk as a national crew. And when you open the app, you can see how many of us are walking in real-time. A reminder that you’re not alone, we walk in solidarity with one another.
We pray that this reminder makes any woman who is struggling with her mental health right now feel loved and supported. We hold you in deep care and hope you will check out this trusted curation from GirlTREK’s National Resources for Black Women’s Mental Health.
With love and gratitude,
The GirlTREK National Crew
P.S. Congratulations to the 50+ women who completed crew leader training last week. Crews are powerful units of change—communities of care, sisterhood circles, and systems of support. Interested in becoming a Crew Leader? Check out this Crew on our app to learn more. |
