Dear ,
Did you know that August is Black Philanthropy Month? Each August, Black philanthropists, investors, entrepreneurs, organizers, and community leaders gather across the country to invest in ideas, build relationships, and imagine what's possible for our communities.
This year, GirlTREK is joining those conversations.
From August 15–20, I'll be on Martha's Vineyard with GirlTREK Executive Director Ayanna Taylor, meeting with friends, partners, philanthropists, and members of our movement to share where GirlTREK is headed next — and how we're creating new pathways for leadership, advocacy, and impact for the more than one million Black women who have said yes to GirlTREK.
One of the highlights of our week will be a community walk on Historic Inkwell Beach on Wednesday, August 19. We're calling it the Manifestation Mile — a fun and sacred mile with GirlTREK, where we walk, talk, solve, and call in what's next. Together, we'll gather in sacred formation to move our bodies, reconnect with ourselves, strengthen our sisterhood, and call in what's next — for our lives, our communities, and our movement.
Following the walk, we'll gather for brunch with Valerie Mosley, a financial expert who has spent her career helping people build financial confidence and long-term financial well-being. Together, Valerie and I will talk about the connection between health and wealth — homeownership, building assets, and what it will take to create healthier, more abundant futures for Black women.
We hope you'll join us.
