Hey Family,
Itβs your girl, Vanessa. For those who donβt know me, Iβm one of the cofounders of GirlTREK.
Iβm going to be in Phoenix this weekend, Sunday, April 26th, and Iβm really excited because I havenβt spent much time in Arizona. While Iβm on the ground, I want to help facilitate a simple meet-and-greetβbringing together women who are already walking, whether solo or in crewsβ¦ or even if youβve never walked at all.
This is a perfect time to pull up, come outside, and bring a friend.
Iβm partnering with my homegirl Lindsay Loveβsheβs the cofounder of Girlfriend Culture, a community-building space for Black women here in Arizona. I invited her to come walk with us, and sheβs bringing some of her crew too.
Sunday Stroll
Location: Steele Indian School Park
When: Sunday, April 26th
Time: 12 PM (weβll be out there until about 2β3 PM)
Where to go:
Enter the park from Central Ave & Farrington Drive β this is important because other entrances wonβt take you to where we are.
Once youβre in, head toward the large group ramada area (thatβs where weβll meet and start). If you see a big covered picnic structure near open green space and walking paths, youβre in the right place.
Parking:
Park in Lot A if you can (itβs the closest to the ramada).
Lot B also works if A is fullβjust expect a short walk over.
The walk:
Weβll do one easy loop around the lakeβitβs a clear, paved path and easy to follow, so no stress if youβre new.
After:
Weβll hang out back at the ramada area for a bitβso if you can, throw a blanket, water, or snacks in your trunk and stay awhile.
Bring a friend. Come as you are.
Pull up. Would love to meet you.
Vanessa
