Membership Meeting

We’ve Been On A Winning Streak

It has been a few months since we last gathered in April, and GirlTREK members and staff have been moving with purpose — setting new goals, building new habits and discovering what becomes possible when we consistently show up for ourselves.

Now, it is time to come back together. Join us for the GirlTREK Summer 2026 Membership Meeting, an audio-only experience designed for you to walk, listen and learn what is new across the movement.

The Underground

The App Update You’ve Been Waiting For

One of the most-requested GirlTREK app features is officially here.

Coming this week, you can now connect The Underground to Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android. Once connected, your steps and walking or running distance can automatically count toward your dashboard, streaks, and challenges.

Whether you track your movement through GirlTREK, your phone, your watch, or another fitness app, every step can count.

No re-entering. No lost miles. No double-counting.

How to Connect

1
Go to Profile → Settings → Health Connect
2
Tap Connect Activity Tracker
3
Allow access to your steps and walking or running distance
4
Turn on Auto-Sync , then tap Sync Now

GirlTREK can pull in up to seven days of past activity and will refresh your data whenever you open the app.

You do not need to connect each watch or fitness app separately. You’re connecting GirlTREK to the health hub already built into your phone.

Connect Your Activity Tracker

If an Activity Is Missing

First, check Apple Health or Health Connect.

If the activity is not there, review the permissions and sync settings for your watch or fitness app. If the activity appears there but is missing from GirlTREK, take a screenshot and go to Profile → Get Support.

Please make sure your screenshot shows the activity type, date, time, and amount.

For Samsung users: Daily steps may sync normally even when individual walks or exercises are missing. We are actively tracking this issue. In the meantime, check your Samsung Health battery settings and confirm that Exercises, Distance, and Active Energy are allowed to write to Health Connect.

Set a Goal. Start a Challenge.

Challenges are also live in The Underground! Create a personal goal or invite your crew to join you. Choose steps, minutes or miles, then build a Leaderboard, Daily Habit, Streak or Target challenge.

This update also lets you edit event details, add activities manually, see your list of attendees, improves distance calculations, and creates a smoother home-page experience.

Update your app now so every step is ready to count when Black August begins.

Sisterhood Spotlight
100 Days, One Promise to Herself

Longtime OG Trekker turned National Staff Member Morgan has been on a winning streak of her own.

Her 100-day walking streak began with The Underground and one simple question: How long can I keep going?

Audiobooks, prompts from The Underground and encouragement from her community helped her stay consistent. She logged each walk in the app until she reached 100 consecutive days. When weather and a busy schedule made walking difficult, Morgan planned ahead and protected at least 30 minutes for herself.

As the days added up, walking became more than a goal. It became non-negotiable. Morgan felt better emotionally, discovered more of her neighborhood and developed a deeper appreciation for what her body could do.

Her advice is simple: start small, keep it interesting and keep showing up.

As Black August approaches, Morgan’s story reminds us that a meaningful streak does not require a perfect plan. It can begin with one walk, one intention and one promise to yourself.

Start Your Streak

We look forward to seeing you on the pavement (and on the 29th).

With love and sisterhood,
GirlTREK
