We’re calling on active Crew Leaders to step up and adopt an open regional crew that currently doesn’t have a dedicated leader. These crews are full of women ready to walk, connect, and thrive — they just need a sister like you to guide the journey.

Why It Matters

Crews with active local leadership are significantly more likely to stay engaged, connected, and consistent. When a woman leads in her own community, she sparks real momentum — and that’s how we build this movement one neighborhood at a time.

What Does This Mean?

As a founding Crew Leader, you will:

• Be assigned to a pre-populated public Crew for your state

• Be able to schedule walks and events for your state crew directly in the app

• Serve as a beacon of radical welcome in our movement, creating a visible point of connection for women in your region

We are accepting up to four Crew Leaders per state.

How to Step Up and Lead

To adopt a crew, reply to this email or send a message to marcie@girltrek.org with the subject line: “I’m ready to lead.” Let Marcie Thomas, our global admin and superstar app moderator, know which regional crew you want to support from the list below.

• Wisconsin: Milwaukee

Everyone who raises their hand is expected to have completed the Crew Leader Training. If you haven’t yet, you can start today using the resources below:

Once confirmed, you will be activated as a Regional Crew Leader and will be able to:

• Set the crew photo/avatar

• Update the crew description to reflect your community

• Create events and walks in the app

• Keep an eye on group activity to ensure it stays safe, welcoming, and aligned with GirlTREK’s mission
