Tomorrow, the sunrise will call the GirlTREK movement forward into the start of our sacred season.

Tomorrow is March 10 — Harriet Tubman Day.

Some of you will gather for Harriet House Parties. Some will rise early for sunrise walks. Others will step outside quietly — the way women in this sisterhood have done for more than a decade. To every woman carrying that tradition forward: thank you.

This year, we decided to honor this day differently — with the work. Instead of a big, splashy campaign as we’ve done in years past, we gave our team the space to build the systems and supports that will allow us to walk, talk, and solve problems together at scale — which we think would make Harriet proud. Learn all about it and how you can activate with us this year at our first quarterly Membership Meeting.

Why It Matters

Your service. This is how you show up for the movement right now.
Your membership. One walk lets the movement know you are with us. This is yours.
Your solidarity. Let the world know you stand with the movement.
Your proof. In a world of noise and deep fakes, your walk is evidence. You exist. You are here. You are real.

Take one walk before April 1 — in honor of Harriet Tubman, in solidarity with your sisterhood, and in the spirit of every elder who walked before you.
Post it. Let the world see you. Flood the streets — and the feeds — in superhero blue. Show them what a million women look like when they move.

Harriet Tubman’s oldest living relative and a beloved godmother of this movement. Mother Pauline walked with us — in her GirlTREK shirt, in her spirit, in her example. We dedicate this season to her memory, and we carry her forward in every step we take.
